So once again, I have been gifted a shipment of beers by the illustrious Ansichart for my birthday!
Moderately hazy with light head retention, smells of pungently fresh guava, peach, and cantaloupe. The taste is smooth and juicy up front, with flavors of mango nectar, ripe cantaloupe, and nectarine on a slick full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of dried apricot, cantaloupe rind, herbal hops and a touch of pine. Overall, this is an interesting beer, it feels almost like drinking a tropical juice cocktail, but with a little bit of hops at the end. I honestly don’t believe there aren’t any fruit purees or added flavors at play here, but overall an interesting rendition of an East coast style IPA from the West coast.
