Very hazy and moderately murky with great head retention, smells of mango, cantaloupe, and peach. The taste is crisp and doughy with flavors of freshly baked buttermilk biscuits, Ritz crackers, and a hint of tropical papaya/pineapple/melon underneath the pillowy soft full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of melon rind, lime peel, grapefruit zest, and a touch of pine. Overall, it’s well balanced and flavorful, and the high ABV is hidden expertly, but I’ve never been a huge fan of the heavier flavor of Triple IPAs, if given the choice I’d rather just have the original Fiddlehead single NEIPA, or Second Fiddle if I want a DIPA. Still a very well crafted beer and a solid option if you want the most bang for your buck but also a beer that still tastes great.
