I review the beers I drink

Elysian – Altered Contact

Moderately hazy with minimal head retention, smells of pine, tangerine, and pineapple. The taste is juicy and lightly tart, with flavors of peach, tangerine, lemon, pineapple, and sour cherry on a smooth and creamy full body. The finish is long and lightly tart and low in bitterness, featuring notes of lemon zest, melon rind, grapefruit, and pine. Overall, it’s an interesting beer, not sure if I’ve had a sour IPA before or not, but I kinda like it. It has the juiciness and soft body of an NEIPA, with a hopping level reminiscent of Trillium (though with a more West Coast flavor profile), but with a light, unobtrusive level of acidity to add some brightness. I’d like to see this done with different hop varieties.
