I review the beers I drink

Captain Lawrence – Freshchester Pale Ale

I was so impressed by that Liquid Gold I picked up a couple weeks ago, I decided to try a couple more from this brewery. Lightly hazy with incredible head retention, smells of very very subtle doughy malts and herbal hops, honestly hard to pick up on anything at all. The taste is crisp with just a hint of sweetness and some faint fruity and nutty notes hiding in the background and a full body. The finish is moderately bitter with heavy pine and herbal hop flavors, subtle juicy citrus underneath. Overall, it’s a very hop forward beer, but as long as you’re into pale ales, this one has a nice malt body to back it up and delivers loads of hop flavor without ever overdoing it.
