I review the beers I drink

Brouwerij Westmalle – Trappist Tripel

Pours a hazy golden color with solid, rocky head retention; smells of banana, clove, and floral hops. The taste is crisp and fruity with flavors of banana and peach on top of peppery wheat and funky Belgian yeast on a coarse full body. The finish is long and moderately high in bitterness, featuring notes of grapefruit peel, apricot, lemon zest, sourdough, and herbal/spicy hops. Overall, this beer is incredible, big bold flavors layered on top of each other yet perfectly balanced and composed. Apparently this was the first Belgian Tripel ever brewed and it’s probably my favorite of the few that I’ve encountered.
