I review the beers I drink

Brouwerij Verhaeghe – Duchesse de Bourgogne

Mostly clear with light head retention, smells of cherry, plum, pinot noir, and apple cider vinegar. The taste is sweet and tart with flavors of sour cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and cranberry on a slick medium body. The finish is long and moderately low in acidity, featuring notes of lime, oak, and cherry cola. Overall, this is a most intriguing beer: a sour but barely it’s almost a lambic, almost an alcopop, yet distinctly Belgian and masterfully balanced. If you’re lucky enough to find this beer, definitely try it.
