I review the beers I drink

Brouwerij St. Bernardus – Prior 8

Hazy and quite murky with solid head retention, smells of toasted bread, caramel, and honey. The taste is crisp and bready with flavors of toasted wheat rolls, salted caramel, honeyed oats, and soft notes of cherry and apple on a soft and smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of funky Belgian yeast, clove, banana bread, burnt caramel, and spicy/herbal hops. Overall, this is a very smooth, very complex beer that’s incredibly structured and develops over time as it warms in the glass. An excellent example of the style!
