Hazy and moderately murky with solid head retention, smells of fig, raisin, and caramel. The taste is bready and lightly sweet with flavors of toasted biscuits, caramel, and fruitcake on a softly effervescent full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of toffee, burnt caramel, oak, and herbal hops. Overall, this is a great Belgian dark ale. Structured and rewarding, however I do prefer the Prior 8 personally.
