Moderately hazy with solid head retention, smells of saltines, honey, and floral hops. The taste is crisp and fruity with flavors of saltines, wheat rolls, lemon, and pear on a softly effervescent medium body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of mandarin orange zest and apricot, as well floral and herbal hops. Overall, this is a nice light ale, the St. Bernardus version of an “Enkel/Single,” assertively hopped and distinctly Belgian, it stands out in today’s beer landscape even more than when it was first produced.
