Very hazy and murky with light head retention, smells of toffee, caramel, and sticky sweet wort. The taste is crisp and bready with flavors of toasted wheat biscuits and oats on top of subtler fruity flavors of apple, plum, and cherry on a coarse full body. The finish is long and moderately high in bitterness, featuring notes of spicy/herbal hops, clove, funky Belgian yeast, and a gentle alcoholic warmth. Overall, this is a fantastic ale, very rich and structured with it’s myriad layers of flavor. Like a bolder, hoppier dubbel.
