It’s Christmas day and I have a couple very special European beers to review!
Pours a moderately hazy burnt orange color with light head retention, smells of cinnamon, caramel, and raisins. The taste is crisp and spicy with notes of caramel, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, and plum on a medium body. The finish is long and low to moderate in bitterness, featuring notes of toasted cinnamon, herbal, and spicy hops. Overall, it’s a very good Belgian ale, well balanced and remarkably smooth for it’s ABV with just the right amount of holiday spice to elevate the experience into something magical.
