Dave Drinks Beer

I review the beers I drink

Ballast Point – Piper Down

Lightly hazy with minimal head retention, smells of caramel and toffee, with subtle floral hops. The taste is on the sweet side, with flavors of caramel mixed with smoky malts and a smooth, creamy full body. The finish is low in bitterness with more smoke and caramel notes, and some subtle herbal and floral hopping underneath. Overall, this beer is all about the malts and I love it. Kinda like Rogue’s Hazelnut Brown Ale, but without the hazelnut.
