I review the beers I drink

Apothic – Inferno 2017

Pours a deep blood red hue, smells of black cherry, leather, oak, and vanilla. The taste is subtly fruity and lightly tart with notes of cordial cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon on a velvety smooth, full body. The finish is long, dry, and warming featuring notes of forest floor, charred oak, tobacco, and bay leaves. Overall, this is by far the driest, most astringent offering of the series, but also the most complex. The bourbon barrel aging complements the wine perfectly and really elevates it into something more than just the sum of it’s parts. Definitely give this one a try, I would love to try more wines in this style.
