Angry Orchard – Hopped Apple

Clear with no head, smells of crisp apple with hints of tropical fruits, pineapple and papaya maybe, and a very faint floral note, somewhat reminiscent of mead. The taste is sweet and semi-tart, with wildflower honey notes underneath like the nose, all paired to a medium body. The finish is part dry and part astringent, the hops are really underwhelming here, no bitterness, very subtle flavors that become hard to discern, it’s really no different from the Green Apple. Overall, not a bad cider, interesting aroma and a little complexity from the added hops, however I believe that the hop flavor should be more pronounced if this is advertised as a hopped cider.
