Extremely hazy with no head retention, smells of fresh apple cider with a subtle woody character underneath. The taste is dry and a little bit tart, a bit perplexing at first as the two flavors battle for dominance amidst the full body. In the finish, the dryness wins out and a bitter grapefruit flavor takes over with an aromatic booze and oak overtone. Overall, not quite what I expected, and the initial taste on the tongue is very difficult to describe. However, it does make for a very complex and unique cider experience, possessing many qualities of a dry red wine.
