Hazy with light head retention, smells of coffee, vanilla, and oak. The taste is semi-sweet with notes of vanilla and sweet cream on smooth, full body; notes of oak, coffee, and Belgian yeast mingle in the background. The finish is long but low in bitterness, with notes of herbal and floral hops along with a touch of bourbon and smoke. Overall, this is an excellent beer, the coffee and bourbon barrel flavors are exquisitely balanced on top of an already complex beer, and it goes down so smooth you’d think it’s half as strong as it really is.
