So on a recent vacation, I stopped at The Beer Store in Nashua, NH. This is one of my all time favorite beer stores and I recommend it to anyone who loves good beer. Anyway, picked up quite a few unique beers, this one a style I’d never seen from this brewery, but I love their rauchbiers and buy them any time I have the chance!
Lightly hazy with small bits of particulate floating around and great head retention; smells of campfire and/or smoked bacon, classic rauchbier aroma. The taste is crisp and bready with a distinctly smoky background and a medium body. The finish is long but low in bitterness with a mixture of herbal hops and smoked meats. Overall, a refreshingly light rauchbier, I love it!
