I review the beers I drink

New Belgium – 1554

Flashlight shows a deep auburn brown, with a thin cap of residual head, smells of dark chocolate and a very subtle smokiness. The taste is semi-sweet with luscious notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee, with a silky smooth body. The finish is clean and a little smoky with some light herbal hopping and a low bitterness. Overall, this is an amazing black lager, all the wonderful dark flavors you love in a porter, but with the drinkability and clean finish of a lager, very good!
