Clear with a thin cap of head, smells like a campfire and smoked meats. Taste is crisp and smoky, with a touch of dark chocolate underneath and a smooth, full body. The finish is low in bitterness, with some light floral and herbal hopping and lots of residual smokiness. Overall, it’s damn good rauchbier, either you love this style or you don’t, but personally I love the extra level of complexity that smoked malts add, and this one is on par with the Bamberg originals.
