Narragansett – Del’s Shandy

I love a good shandy, even on a sub-zero New Year’s Day. This one is a blend of “Narragansett Lager and lemon flavor.” Clear with thin head retention, smells of lemon drops and… more lemon drops. Taste is crisp with only a light sweetness and lemon flavor underneath a clean lagery malt profile and thin body. Finish is semi-dry and extremely clean, very faint herbal hopping and bitterness to match, with the same subtle lemon character underneath. Overall, a lot better than I expected. Lemon flavor is definitely artificial, but it’s still a very light and clean lager that would be extremely refreshing on a hot day, it sure is on a cold one!
