I review the beers I drink

Coors Brewing Company – Coors Light

Ok, so I know this glass can add a little bit to the experience of a real pilsner, but how about an American adjunct light lager? Can a macrobrew be redeemed? Color is as pale as I think is possible without just being water, head retention is non-existent. Smelling of grass, corn and water, the taste is very thin and watery, I think there’s some grainy sweetness, some skunky off-flavors, but honestly it’s hard to pick up on anything; body is thin. The finish is similar, very low bitterness, maybe some grassy hops? Really, all you’re left with after you swallow is a skunky, almost sour flavor on the back of the tongue, kinda like the lingering taste you get after drinking milk. I’ll have to reattempt this experiment sometime with a full strength beer, as the light beers are almost always just (literally) watered down versions of the source beers. For this beer, this glass certainly doesn’t hurt, and even classes it up a bit, but mediocre beer is always mediocre, no matter how you present it.
