I review the beers I drink

Tröegs – The Mad Elf

My first holiday brew of the year, this is a lovely clear ruby color with moderate head retention. Smells of cherry, honey, and booze; taste is a smooth flavor of dark malts and honey with an almost tart touch of cherries and a full body. Finish is dry, but lightly bitter with aromatic notes of alcohol and Belgian yeast funk. This is an excellent winter warmer kind of ale with a great variety of flavors and the complexities that brings. The alcohol is hidden decently well and the whole experience is very comforting. Great beer!
