Flashlight shows through as a deep crimson dot, head retention is minimal, smells of caramel, fudge, smoked meat, and alcohol. The taste is smooth and lightly sweet with flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla cream, caramel, maple syrup, and cinnamon rolls on a smooth and extra creamy full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of dark chocolate, burnt caramel, charred wheat rolls, coffee, herbal hops and smoke. Overall, it’s rich and decadent but also with a clean lager finish. It’s layered with rich, roasted malty flavors, but balanced perfectly by the hops. An outstanding example of one of my favorite styles.
