Clear with solid head retention, smells of pine, herbal hops, and rye. The taste is crisp and spicy up front with flavors of rye, pumpernickel, and white pepper on a slick medium body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of herbal hops, pine, rye whiskey, and subtle grapefruit. Overall, this is a nice old school, almost English kind of IPA, with big bold malt bill to balance and accentuate the hops. Remarkably drinkable.
