I review the beers I drink

Summit – Sága Imperial IPA

Clear with excellent head retention, smells of grapefruit, pine, and caramel. The taste is bready and resinous with flavors of dark wheat rolls, toasted wheat bread, caramel, along with hints of grapefruit and toffee under smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes pine, grapefruit zest, apricot, and spicy/herbal hops. Overall, I’m impressed with this one. It’s not an East Coast juice bomb, it’s definitely in the style of a West Coast double/triple IPA, with lots of sticky, piney hops and a strong malt bill with some lightly roasted grains to stand up to the hops. This one also manages to utilize some more diverse hops notes underneath all that and achieve a less aggressive finish.
