I review the beers I drink

Masthead Brewing – Double Jalapeño Double IPA

Lightly hazy with light head retention, smells of fresh sliced jalapeño, citrus, and floral hops. The taste is crisp and “green” with flavors of toasted sourdough, wheat crackers, and raw green jalapeño on a full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter and lightly spicy, featuring notes of diced green jalapeños with seeds and pith, lime zest, grapefruit peel, and herbal hops. Overall, the pepper flavor is nice and the heat level is perfect, but I wish there had been cryo hops or fruit puree added for a little extra juiciness to balance all the bitter flavors.
