I review the beers I drink

New Glarus – Spotted Cow

So first off, I apologize to New Glarus Brewing for not being able to give your beers the same level of quality reviews as I normally do, but I’m in a hotel room in Wisconsin and picked up a variety 12 pack because they looked like good beers, but I do not have my lightbox or any of my glassware with me, so I will be drinking these straight from the bottle, and consequently my impressions of each beer may be different than if I had done my normal process.

Anyway, smells of clover honey, lemon zest, and floral hops. The taste is crisp and a little funky with a primary flavor of sourdough with notes of lemon and orange underneath on a smooth full body. The finish is long and low in bitterness, featuring notes of lemon peel, orange zest and floral hops. Overall, this is a nice refreshing and sessionable ale, with a great balance of flavors; not particularly sour or super funky as other seasons can be, this one is like a Goldilocks season, just right.
