Moderately hazy and murky with light head retention, smells of toasted bread, toffee, and caramel. The taste is dense and bready with flavors of toasted biscuits, caramel, sweet cream, fig, and plum on a softly effervescent full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter while warming the palate, featuring notes of herbal hops, vanilla, raisins, fig, banana bread, and hints of charred oak and grapefruit underneath it all. Overall this beer definitely lives up to it’s reputation, it’s so incredibly complex. Bready, fruity, sweet, warming, and pleasantly bitter. Not an easy beer to come by but absolutely worth the effort. Currently the #1 Belgian Quad in the world on BeerAdvocate!
