I review the beers I drink

Brasserie de Blaugies – La Vermontoise

A collaboration with Hill Farmstead in Vermont, pours very hazy and moderately murky with no head retention, smells of vinegar, pomegranate, and mint. The taste is crisp and doughy with flavors of dinner rolls, honey butter, and a hint of lemon on an effervescent full body. The finish is long and moderately high in bitterness, featuring notes of herbal, grassy, and spicy hop notes with a whisper of pine and vinegar. Overall, this beer just doesn’t do it for me, it smells like a sour but all it really tastes like is oxidized hops. No date printed on the bottle anywhere so I have no idea if this is an old bottle or if this is how it should taste, however I have to admit when I did travel to the Hill Farmstead brewery a few years ago, I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the saison style ales I bought.
