I review the beers I drink

Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Stout 2019 (Aged in Bottle 5 Years)

The world has changed in many ways since 2019, but how has this been changed since I last reviewed it?

Flashlight cannot penetrate this beer, head retention is non existent, smells of toffee, raisins, and chocolate. The taste is rich and smooth with flavors of hot chocolate, raisin, fig, plum, cherry, and coffee on a super smooth and creamy extra full body. The finish is long and moderately high in bitterness, featuring notes of dark chocolate, espresso, herbal hops, vanilla, oak, and a boozy warmth across the palate. Overall, this is incredibly rich and decadent, seems to have mellowed out a bit on the smoky flavors, the port wine flavors have really blossomed; alcoholic presence on the palate as well as perceived bitterness have also increased.
