What 9000?! (Apparently 9000 is the local post code in Ghent, where this beer is from) Lightly hazy and murky with minimal head retention, smells of caramel, roasted grains, and funky Belgian yeast. The taste is rich and decadent, honestly reminiscent of a barrel aged stout, with flavors of raisin, fig, and cherry on a bed of roasted malts and honey and a smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of burnt caramel, herbal hops, and yeasty funk. Overall, it’s a very flavorful and well balanced Belgian quad, showing that hops don’t always have to be the star of the show.
