Samuel Smith – The Celebrated Oatmeal Stout

Flashlight shows a bright ruby hue, head retention is minimal, smells of chocolate milk and roasted malt. The taste is crisp and lightly sweet with flavors of milk chocolate, bread pudding, and a hint of peanut butter on a silky smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, oatmeal cookies, and herbal hops. Overall, this is a seriously good stout, like possibly top 5 I’ve had; the body is divine, the balance is exquisite and you can get lost trying to identify all the flavors within.
