Unlike the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, this wine actually uses Montepulciano grapes, from the Abruzzo region.
Smells of plum, cherry, and blueberry. The taste is bright and fruity up front with flavors of cherry, strawberry, watermelon, and plum on a soft medium body. The finish is long and mostly dry with a moderate acidity, featuring notes of Luxardo cherries, black grapes, grape leaves, oak and raspberry. Overall, it’s a nice, approachable red with the classic Italian balance on a lighter more drinkable body. About what I’d expect for a $10 wine.
