I review the beers I drink

Il Poggione – Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021

A bright garnet red, smells of strawberry, oak, and brandy with a strong alcohol presence. The taste is bright and rich with flavors of strawberry, cherry, plum, and a touch of lavender on a lightly astringent, velvety smooth full body. The finish is long and dry with a moderate acidity, featuring notes of charred oak, grape leaves, bourbon, dark chocolate, cigar, and forest floor. Overall this has a bit of a boozy punch to the nose, but is otherwise extremely well made with a perfect balance between the bold, yet restrained flavors. An excellent value at $30/bottle worth splurging on.
