Some people may not consider this “craft” beer due to the brewery’s corporate ownership, however this is clearly a “crafted” beer, and I like Guinness beer. That said, whether an old dog known for its stouts can learn new tricks, remains to be seen.
Clear with light head retention, smells of smooth, creamy malt with a hint of peppery spiciness. Taste is sweet and creamy malt flavor and body, with a very crisp, clean slightly dry finish. Much less hop than I anticipated, but very good. A pale malt forward ale, with a stout-like creaminess.
