I review the beers I drink

Fattoria del Cerro – Silineo Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2019

A “Vino Nobile di Montepulciano” style wine, which is not made from Montepulciano grapes, but rather made predominantly with Sangiovese grapes from the hills around the Tuscan town of Montepulciano. The smell is quite intense, with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, and subtle forest floor. The taste is fruity and bold, with flavors of cherry, plum, blueberry, and blackberry on an astringent medium body. The finish is long and dry with a mild acidity, featuring notes of blueberry, raspberry, grape must, and leather with hints of tobacco, dark chocolate, and forest floor underneath. Overall this is a remarkably complex wine, with layers of intense fruit flavors giving way to even more layers of bold and rich dry flavors reminiscent of all things in life meant to be savored. Seriously one of the best reds I’ve had the pleasure of tasting, and a steal at only $21/bottle.
