I review the beers I drink

Sam Adams – Alpine Lager

Lightly hazy with light head retention, smells of pale malts and grassy hops. The taste is crisp and doughy with flavors of Hefeweizen, freshly proofed dough, and white pepper on a smooth medium body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of spicy, grassy, herbal, and floral hops along with residual Weissbier yeast. Overall, it’s not bad, essentially a Weizenpils (a word I just made up); it is quite enjoyable, though not all that discernable from wheat ale.
