Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Biscotti Stout 2022

No flashlight, no head, smells exactly like chocolate biscotti, the baked biscuits, the almonds, it’s all there. The taste is nutty and lightly sweet, like a biscotti, with flavors of milk chocolate, twice baked biscuits, almonds, amaretto, and pine nuts on a smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of dark chocolate, espresso, black cherry a healthy dose of herbal hops along with subtle hints of bourbon and smoke. Overall it’s shocking how much this resembles an actual biscotti in aroma, flavor, everything except texture. A really cool beer and definitely a standout in this year’s lineup, definitely worth seeking this one out and maybe paying a little extra for it.
