I review the beers I drink

Tree House – Old Hat

Clear with light head retention, smells of coffee, smoke, and a hint of caramel. The taste is crisp and bready with flavors of charred biscuits, pumpernickel, and caramel on a soft full body. The finish is long and moderately high in bitterness, featuring notes of spicy herbal hops, grapefruit peel, smoke, and a hint of pine. Overall, it’s malt forward but also assertively hopped, making it distinctly “American” in style. I like the direction they went with this, it’s very bold and in your face which helps it stand out from others in this ubiquitous craft style.
