I review the beers I drink

New South – Nut Brown Ale

Just ever so slightly hazy with a great head retention, smells of toasted bread, caramel, and subtle chocolate. The taste is crisp and roasty with flavors of toasted biscuits, caramel, chocolate milk, and smoked meats on a silky smooth, full body. The finish is long and low in bitterness, featuring notes of wood-fired bread, burnt caramel, subtle roasted coffee, and herbal hops. Overall, I was expecting just an average brown ale, but this is very good! Perfect balance between sweet and smoky malts, just a hint of bittering hops, and a creamy body to tie it all together; this is probably the best brown ale I’ve ever had.
