Very hazy and moderately murky with minimal head retention, smells of pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, and mango. The taste is crisp and citrusy, with flavors of lemon and grapefruit on a base of toasted bread and a thick and chewy body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of herbal hops, pine, and lemon zest. Overall, I’m beginning to see a pattern with the Trillium beers as being a bit more assertively hopped/bitter than most NEIPAS, but so far they have been very well balanced with bolder malt flavors, and quite enjoyable.
