I review the beers I drink

Russian River – Pliny the Elder

The myth! The legend! The hype! Pliny the Elder!
Just the tiniest bit hazy with solid head retention, smells of floral, herbal, and pine hops. The taste is crisp and bready with flavors of toasted biscuits, jasmine, and subtle honey on a medium body. The finish is long and moderately bitter with clean, crisp, and clear notes of pine, grapefruit pith, floral, herbal, and spicy hops. Overall, this is fantastic. Honestly, it’s surprisingly good, enlightening, as I finally get what West Coast IPAs are trying to be. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is honestly the closest comparison I can think of, but bolder and cleaner at the same time. Definitely a beer worth seeking out if reasonably priced…
