Pours a bright cherry red, smells of blackberry, blueberry, and plum. The taste is fruity and lightly acidic with notes of raspberry, black currant, and sour cherry on a light body. The finish is long and subtly tart, featuring notes of elderberry, blackberry, leather and smoked gouda. Overall, it’s very light and refreshingly tart with a reserved fruitiness and low tannins. It would make a nice introduction to red wine for someone who is intimidated by the bolder, drier offerings.
