Flashlight shows a hazy chestnut color with light head retention, smells of black coffee, smoke, and caramel. The taste is crisp and lightly acidic with notes of coffee, orange chocolate, and toasted bread on a smooth, medium body. The finish is long and low in bitterness, featuring notes of cappuccino, orange zest, and herbal hops with a mild acidity underneath. Overall, it’s a very good stout, not sure why it has the subtle tartness unless that’s a hallmark of Vietnamese coffee, but it’s not overpowering and essentially just adds an extra layer of complexity to the incredibly smooth and drinkable experience.
