Weihanstephaner is one of my favorite breweries, and I believe the oldest in the world, hadn’t seen this kristallweizenbock, so a wheat beer with the yeast filtered out, but heavy like a bock. Smells like a hefeweizen, with clove and citrus notes from the yeast. Tastes sweet and fruity on top of a nice bready malt base. Very light mouthfeel and a light hop finish with more clove notes. A damn good beer, removing the yeast doesn’t affect the flavor as much as I’d thought.
