Flashlight shows just a hint of ruby; light head retention, smells of maple syrup, chocolate, and roasted malts. The taste is sweet with notes of dark chocolate and maple, on a full body. The finish is long but low in bitterness, with notes of herbal and floral hops, smoked malts and maple. Overall, the maple is a bit overpowering leaving the final beer to be somewhat one-dimensional, but it’s still enjoyable.
