Flashlight reveals a deep chestnut color with light head retention, smells of pumpkin, spice, and perhaps a hint of toasted bread. The taste is sweet and follows the nose with lots of pumpkin pie flavor mixed with an undercurrent of smoke and chocolate on a smooth, full body. The finish is long but low in bitterness, with notes of herbal, and spicy hops and lasting pumpkin spice. Overall, it’s a solid and tasty spin on Pumking, with some extra complexity, though I wish there was a little more dark malt flavor.
