Flashlight shows a moderately hazy burnt orange color with light head retention, smells of toasted malts, caramel, and toffee. The taste is crisp with toasted bread and toffee up front, and doughy, yeasty undertone beneath the medium body. The finish is long and low to moderate in bitterness, featuring herbal, spicy, and soft floral hop notes amidst a sea of residual yeast flavors and a light minerality. Overall, it’s a damn fine Dubbel, and easily rivals the greats from Belgium.
