Dave Drinks Beer

I review the beers I drink

Saranac – 1888 Pils

I wonder if this is any different from last year’s Bavarian Pils; clear with a thin cap of head, smells of fresh juicy hops and neutral lager yeast. The taste is peppery and bready but with a big juicy citrus background and a very smooth, creamy body. The finish is clean and moderate to high in bitterness, featuring notes of floral hops and citrus peels, but it (mostly) fades away after a few seconds. Overall, yeah, this is the same beer from last year just rebranded. Either that or it is very close to last year’s. However that is not a bad thing, as this is a very smooth and drinkable pils whith big bold flavors and a touch of American flair.
