I review the beers I drink

Stone – Hop Revolver: Herkules

Clear with decent head retention, smells… funky, kinda leathery, but also something reminiscent of fish oil; not bad per se, just very odd and hard to describe. The taste is crisp with a strong peppery and somehow savory character, an almost milky sweetness underneath with a smooth, creamy full body. The finish is very long high in bitterness, herbal and spicy hop notes dominate, with some pine popping up here and there. Overall, this is a weird beer. As a single hop IPA, it’s great, a well balanced but very bold beer that showcases the chosen hop well; however this is one funky as hell and unique hop.

Other reviews around the net are very critical of this beer with many suggesting this could just be a bad batch, but the brewery doesn’t seem to have made any statements about it.
